Snow creates travel problems in northwest Kansas

A winter storm brought snow to northwestern Kansas on Saturday, creating blowing snow conditions that made travel hazardous.

Interstate 70 was closed from Colorado to Salina, Kansas Saturday night, but it was reopened early Sunday.   A number of accidents were reported in Colorado and ice accumulation was reported in Goodland, Kansas, changing to snow.

A winter weather advisory was in effect for parts of northern and northwestern Kansas into Sunday evening, and another inch of accumulation was expected for those areas, with flurries possible across central Kansas.

The Wichita area is expecting a late day sprinkle or snow flurry into Sunday evening but no accumulation is expected.
