A man wanted for a fatal shooting in Wichita has been arrested in Oklahoma.

Police in Warr Acres, Oklahoma took a 25-year-old Wichita man into custody last week, and he has now been transferred to the Sedgwick County jail to await formal charges.

Police were called to a shooting on December 2nd at the 511 club at 511 North West Street.  They found 19-year-old Sonya Brown with a gunshot wound, and she died later at a hospital.   Detectives found that the suspect and another man happened inside the club, and there were a number of shots fired.  Brown was believed to be an unintended victim of the shooting, and police said she was not involved in the disturbance that led to the shooting.

The Sedgwick County district attorney’s office will determine charges in the case.
