A company affiliated with a Chinese company engaged in counterfeiting, and using the Koch name, has lost its articles of incorporation in Kansas.
Koch Membrane Systems Inc., a Kansas corporation affiliated with the Chinese counterfeiter Koch (Beijing) Membrane Technology Co., Ltd., has had its articles of incorporation revoked for abuse of corporate powers, according to the Kansas Attorney General’s Office. A default judgement was entered against the company after it failed to reply to a lawsuit.
According to the lawsuit, the company incorporated in Kansas in 2018 for the sole purpose of masquerading as a division of Koch Industries. It alleges that the company is guilty of impersonating a real Koch subsidiary based in Massachusetts by using a nearly identical company name in order to provide false credibility to counterfeiting activities of its affiliate in China.
