Wichita man faces charges in separate shooting incidents

A Wichita man who was arrested for a recent shooting incident in Maize has now been arrested for an earlier shooting in a Wichita neighborhood.

The 19-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after being identified as the suspect in a December 22nd shooting in the 2000 block of North Pine Grove in Wichita.  A 21-year-old man was treated and later released for a leg injury after that shooting.    Police recovered two handguns and ammunition at a home on South Pinecrest when they took the suspect into custody.   He is facing charges of aggravated battery and criminal discharge of a firearm.

The man was also arrested by Maize police for a January 5th shooting that injured a 16-year-old boy.  He is facing charges of aggravated battery, six counts of aggravated assault, and three counts of criminal damage to property in that incident.

Wichita investigators are working to determine if the man was involved in any other similar incidents.
