A 24-year-old Pittsburg man is in jail in Wichita after an attack that left a man with a deep cut to his throat.
It happened around 5 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of North Spruce. Police arrived and found the victim who was transported to the hospital in critical condition. That person later died from their injuries and has been identified as 19-year-old Vincent Venturella, of Wichita.
Officers were able to quickly identify a suspect who lives in Pittsburg and police there took him into custody. He has been transported back to Wichita to face charges.
Police believe the attack started as a dispute between the two men over an ex-girlfriend that was the sister of one of the men.
