A Wichita woman and a man from Liberal are facing charges after a chase Friday afternoon in southwest Kansas.
Clark County officials said Undersheriff Wally Long made a traffic stop on Highway 54 east of Minneola, and the vehicle sped away. While the undersheriff was chasing the car eastbound, another vehicle appeared and tried to block his vehicle. The undersheriff drove around the second car and was able to get to the first car, which was abandoned in a field. The man from Liberal was arrested with the help of Kansas Highway Patrol troopers, Dodge City police and a K-9 unit, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being booked into jail.
Deputies from Ford and Meade counties helped in stopping the second vehicle and arresting the Wichita woman who was driving that car.
