Wichita man gets probation for shooting incident

A Wichita man has been given two years probation after pleading guilty to charges related to a shooting incident in south Wichita in 2018.

60-year-old Richard Gore pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm while under the influence and six counts of criminal discharge of a firearm.

Gore was seen firing shots on November 27th, 2018 in the area of Pawnee and Oliver near the Department for Children and Families building.   A Sedgwick County deputy fired a shot with a rifle after seeing Gore raise his gun toward Wichita police officers.   Gore was wounded in the shoulder and treated at a hospital, and he was the only person who was injured during the incident.
