A Wichita man has been charged with rape, battery and other counts for assaulting a woman he met on the dating app Tinder.
23-year-old Joe Tamez made his first appearance in court Thursday for two counts of rape, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated battery, criminal threat and battery. His bond was set at $250,000, and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for February 13th.
Police said a 20-year-old woman went to Tamez’s home in the 500 block of South Tyler Road on January 26th, and the woman was assaulted and choked before she got away and ran to a neighboring home for help.
