Police say they have arrested a high school teacher at Wichita Collegiate School for three counts of unlawful sexual relations.

In a press release, police said information was received about possible sexual relations between the 39-year-old teacher and a former Collegiate Student.  The teacher was arrested Friday after an investigation.

Wichita Collegiate officials are cooperating with the investigation, and the school released a statement Monday calling the arrest disturbing to the Collegiate community.  The statement said the teacher was placed on administrative leave when word of the investigation was received, and now with his arrest, the teacher’s employment has been terminated.   The statement said the school has been contacting various local organizations who can help the school community understand and combat the issues of sexual harassment and sexual abuse.
