Three people were arrested after a robbery in west Wichita led to a brief chase.
Officer Charley Davidson said a 50-year-old man reported being robbed late Tuesday morning at his business in the 1700 block of West McCormick. The man was approached by someone asking for work, then two other people approached from behind with a rifle. The man was struck with the rifle and the attackers took his cell phone, wallet and credit cards.
Davidson said the credit cards were used in the area. Officers got information from the credit card activity and found the suspects’ car near Pawnee and Rock Road, and they chased it to Kellogg and Edgemoor. Two 23-year-old men and an 18-year-old woman were arrested, and police recovered the items taken from the victim. They also recovered a fake rifle that was used in the robbery.
Information will be presented to the Sedgwick County district attorney’s office for charges in the case.
