Police have arrested a man and woman in connection with a carjacking incident in north Wichita.
Police were called to a home Saturday night in the 1300 block of North Green. A 50-year-old woman reported selling a 2006 Ford Focus to a 21-year-old woman, then she saw the younger woman’s boyfriend inside her home. The man pulled out a handgun and took the keys to the Focus, and he and the younger woman left in the car.
Police tracked suspects down with the help of tips from the community, and the two were arrested in the 200 block of South Hillside on Tuesday. A 25-year-old man was booked on aggravated robbery, drug charges and possession of a firearm by a felon. Police said he had previously been convicted on charges including aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and criminal threat. The 21-year-old woman was booked for aggravated robbery and possession of marijuana.
