Parole has granted for one of two men convicted in the 1990 death of Nancy Shoemaker. Donald Wacker was sentenced to life in prison.

He was sentenced in May of 1992 for kidnapping and aiding a felon.   Wacker was accused of helping Doil Lane kidnap Shoemaker.

Lane is the man who sexually assaulted and killed Shoemaker.  He is currently serving a life prison sentence in Texas in a separate killing there.

The Kansas Department of Corrections is expected to release more information about the decision to parole Wacker April 3.  His release date is Nov. 1.
