Star Spangled Salute: A Veteran Salutes Healthcare Workers

Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors a Louisville, Kentucky veteran Chris Cruise, who is using his company to honor healthcare workers amid the Coronavirus pandemic.  As a Paratropper in the 82nd Airborne Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and transitioning out of the military, Chris Cruise always saw an opportunity to help others. His wife Amber is from Kentucky.  They decided to combine their pasts to create something special, the bourbon barrel American Flag. Their company, Cruise Custom Flags, creates American flags out of Kentucky bourbon barrels.  They have now designed a custom flag for those on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, which features a heart rhythm on the stripe below the stars.  Cruise Custom Flags is donating all profits from the custom made flags, called “America-One Heart Beat Edition” to University of Louisville Healthcare.

Each flag costs $60. For more information on the flags, click here.
