Under Kansas’ stay home order, farmers markets are treated the same as grocery stores.
Some markets across the state have decided to postpone opening, but the Kansas Grown Farmers Market in Wichita is holding its opening day this Saturday, at 21st and Ridge.
You’re still urged to practice social distancing and good hygiene if you plan to attend. The market will be open from 7 a.m. to noon, and it’s requested that the fist hour be reserved for at-risk customers. Because of health concerns, no sampling will be allowed at the market, and hand sanitizer stations will be set up.
More details on opening day can be found at the Kansas Grown Farmers Market Facebook page.
