Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Sarah Rieke, a U.S. Army combat Veteran who served in the 101st Airborn Division with a 1-year tour in Iraq. One would think that trying to open a brand new business in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis might not be the best idea, but that is not stopping Sarah who a few weeks ago opened “Mad Piper Bakery” in her home town in Ohio. She says, “I wants the bakery to be a positive light for the entire community. With everything going on with COVID-19, you have massive amounts of unemployment, massive amounts of negativity and illness and we wanted to bring smiles to people’s faces even if it’s just one pastry at a time.” Thank you Sarah for wanting to be a light with your culinary talents and thank you for your service.
