Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors the bravery of 34-year old active-duty Fort Leavenworth soldier Master Sgt. David Royer.  Wednesday, on Centennial Bridge a suspect got out of his car with a semiautomatic rifle and a hand gun and started firing.  David saw what was taking place, acted quickly and used his vehicle to ram the suspect and injure him.   Law enforcement credits David for preventing a mass shooting where countless lives would have been lost.  One person was injured, but is expected to recover.  David doesn’t consider himself a hero, he believes others in his situation would have done the same thing.  He said there was nothing else he could do because lives were in danger.  Thank you David for your bravery and thank you for your service.
