Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Navy Veteran Gary Irvin. Gary spent nearly 30 years in the Navy and after his service he returned to his home town of Altoona, Pennsylvania. Gary is a volunteer at the local VA Medical center and he works at the Vietnam Memorial visitors center in his town. It’s there he hand makes belts. Belts that often have a military theme. When these hand crafted, one of a kind belts are finished he often presents them to other Veterans or people who have lost a loved one in service. It’s something, Gary says, brings him a great sense of satisfaction. Thank you Gary for your gift and thank you for your service.
