New COVID cases confirmed in Harvey County

Harvey County confirmed three new COVID-19 cases Monday evening, bringing the county up to nine active cases.

One patient is a woman in her 20’s, who was a contact of another known case.

Two other patients are a boy and girl, between 10 and 19 -years-old, who had recently traveled outside the state.

All three of the latest patients are practicing home isolation.

“We stay in communication with our local health partners as we monitor our recent increase in cases. COVID-19 continues to be a public health concern, and one without a verified treatment or vaccine,” said Harvey County Health Department Director Lynnette Redington. “Taking preventative steps such as frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing a face cover when you can’t maintain social distancing are still the best ways to protect yourself and others.”

In total, Harvey County has confirmed 24 COVID-19 cases.
