Winfield police are investigating an accident that left a Wichita-area woman in critical condition.
The department said the woman was on or near railroad tracks at Highway 77 and Amos Becker Road, just south of Winfield, around 9:30 Monday morning. She was hit by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe locomotive, and she was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Police are still investigating and no other details have been released.
