A fatal crash closed Highway 54 west of Pratt for several hours Tuesday morning.
The crash was reported about a mile west of Pratt shortly before 6 a.m. The Kansas Highway Patrol said an eastbound pickup went into a ditch and then went back onto the highway, but it began to slide broadside into the westbound lane and it was hit by a semi.
The driver of the pickup, 61-year-old Carla Ann Woods of Haviland, was dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, a 32-year-old Wichita man, had minor injuries.
