Sedgwick County identifies three COVID-19 clusters at long-term care facilities

Sedgwick County health officials have identified new clusters of coronavirus activity at three long-term care facilities.

Less than five cases have been reported at Chaucer Estates at 10,550 East 21st Street.  No deaths have been reported and all residents and staff are being tested.

Comfort Care Homes of Wichita at 509 North Tallyrand has reported less than five cases, with no deaths. All residents and staff are being tested.   Comfort Care vice president Robert Miller said all affected residents are doing fine with no respiratory distress.

The Oxford Grand at New Market, at 3051 Parkdale Circle, has reported less than five cases including one resident.  There are no deaths and all residents and staff have been tested.

County health officials are working with the three facilities to monitor residents and staff.  The three care facilities said they are following state and federal guidelines for prevention of COVID-19.
