The Wichita Art Museum is asking local artists to submit entries for a new exhibit that will open in the fall.

The exhibition is called “Foot in the Door,” and it’s an opportunity for local artists to have their work on display at the museum for its 85th anniversary year.  Artists can submit a 12-inch by 12-inch artwork, whether it’s a painting, a print, a drawing or a relief, and the exhibit is open to people of all ages.   Submissions from artists under 16 years of age will require the signature of a parent or guardian.

Artists must live in the Wichita Metropolitan Statistical area, which includes Butler, Harvey, Sedgwick and Sumner counties.   Only one entry can be submitted per person.

Artists can register on the museum’s web site at www.wichitaartmuseum.org/footinthedoor    The deadline is Monday, September 28th and artists will deliver their artwork to the museum beginning September 30th.

The “Foot in the Door” exhibit will open in October.
