Woman arrested for fatal shooting in Wichita

Police have arrested a 41-year-old woman in connection with a fatal shooting that happened in northeast Wichita in June.

The woman was arrested in the 400 block of North Ash and she was booked into jail for second degree murder, criminal possession of a firearm and an outstanding warrant.

Police found 53-year-old David Leddy on June 17th in front of a home in the 1200 block of North Pinecrest.   He was pronounced dead at the scene.   Police found there had been a dispute between Leddy and a 19-year-old man, and that resulted in damage to Leddy’s vehicle and injuries to the younger man.    The 41-year-old woman later went to the home with three friends, and another disturbance broke out, and that’s when shots were fired.

Information will be presented to the Sedgwick County district attorney’s office for the filing of charges in the case.
