Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors 87-year old Korean War Veteran Edward Sanders. Edward took his first plane ride at 15 at his local airport and the owner gave him free lessons if he worked at school. However, the call to fly was too strong and Edward dropped out of high school during his junior year to join the Air Force and became a B-47 bomber pilot. A few days ago, Edward received the high school diploma saying that he never dreamed he was going to graduate and he’s so thankful for that. Congratulation Edward and thank you for your service.
