Girl recovering after accidental shooting

A 10-year-old girl is expected to be OK after an accidental shooting at a west Wichita home.

Wichita police were called to a home in the 600 block of South St. Paul, near Kellogg and Edwards, around 10:30 Wednesday night. A man was reportedly handling a gun in a bedroom and accidentally fire it, hitting the girl through the wall of a connected bathroom. The girl was hit in the upper body and her injury is described as not life-threatening.

So far, it does not appear that anyone is facing charges from this incident.
