The Sedgwick County Health Department identified four new clusters of COVID-19 cases at adult care or independent living facilities.
14 cases have been confirmed at Sedgwick Plaza, involving five resident and nine employees. All of people who have tested positive have never shown any symptoms of the virus.
Eight COVID cases were found at Wichita Care and Rehab, involving one resident and seven employees. The resident who tested positive never showed any symptoms, and the employees who tested positive were not involved in directly caring for resident. Most have since recovered.
Seven cases were found at Stratford Home, involving four residents and three employees. None of the residents who tested positive showed any symptoms, and all staff are screened daily.
18 cases of the virus were found at Meridian Rehabilitation & Health Center, involving 12 resident and six employees.
No deaths have been reported from any of these clusters.
The Sedgwick County Health Department is working with each of these care homes to track close contacts and fight further spread of COVID-19.
