Wichita Airport Conducting A Full-Scale Disaster Exercise Thursday Morning

The Wichita Airport will be conducting a full-scale disaster exercise Thursday morning (September 17th).

The exercise is mandated by the FAA and Wichita Airport Authority, and it will be happening at 9am Thursday morning north of Highway K42 between runways 1L and 14.

During the exercise, Airport staff will post simulated information on Twitter “@FlyICT” with the hashtag “ICT Drill.”

There will also be responders from 18 agencies, departments, and organizations.

Exercises like this are held every 3 years, and this year the drill involves the simulation of a runway crash from landing gear failure.
