Police in Hutchinson are investigating two reports of attempted child abductions.
Officers were called to the 400 block of East 6th, on September 17. An 11-year-old girl was playing in her yard around 7:40 in the evening, and reported a man coming up and grabbing her wrist. The girl was able to get away and ran to a nearby building to hide. The suspect in this case was last seen headed west in an alley. He is described as a white male, 6-feet tall, and skinny. He was wearing all black clothing and a black mask.
The second report came in September 24, at the Kwik Shop, at 1401 E. 4th. A woman says she left the store and put her 3-year-old son in a car seat. She then got into the driver’s seat and pressed a button to close her sliding side door. As the door was closing, a man reached in toward the 3-year-old, but ran off after the mom yelled at him. This person is described as having facial hair, and was wearing grey sweatpants and a black sweatshirt. The suspect was last seen running south.
