Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army Veteran Jorge Pulleiro. Jorge began teaching at the age of 19 when he taught English in his native Argentina. From there, he moved to the states to attend BYU and study Spanish translation and interpretation. After school, he later spent 6 years serving his country in the U.S. Army. In 2014 Jorge was recognized by the White House and Department of Defense as an example of the Troops to Teachers program, which helps veterans transition into K-12 classrooms. Just the other day it was announced that he was Idaho’s 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year. Congratulations Jorge and THANK YOU for your service.
