A 59-year-old man is recovering after he was shot early Thursday at a home near Seneca and Kellogg.
Wichita police say officers were called to the 800 block of South Fern around 3:40 Thursday morning. The injured man was found and taken to a hospital with injuries described as serious, but not life-threatening.
According to a statement from police, two suspects entered the home, pointed guns at the man and a 20-year-old woman, and demanded property. One of the suspects shot the 59-year-old after taking some things, then both suspects left. The woman in the home ran off before police got there.
No information was released about what was taken, or why the victim may have been targeted. Police say this is not believed to be a random incident.
