UPDATE:  The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said Saturday a Topeka man died after an officer-involved shooting incident in Salina.

The man was identified as 29-year-old Kalun Purucker.   A 20-year-old man from Lindsborg was hospitalized after Friday’s shooting incident, and he was in stable condition with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.  His name has not been released and at this point he has not been arrested.

KBI agents and Kansas Highway Patrol troopers were looking for a man in a previous KBI case, and he was in a vehicle that was pulled over late Friday afternoon near Choctaw and Cherokee in Salina.   Shots were fired from the car and troopers and agents returned fire.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has been asked to investigate the shooting, and the findings will be presented to the Saline County Attorney’s Office for a determination on charges.    The KBI agents and the KHP troopers were placed on routine administrative leave.
