The people killed in the gyrocopter in Butler County have been identified as 58-year-old Kerry Trent and 53-year-old Shannon Tucker. Both men were from Wichita.
The crash was reported around 1:45 Tuesday afternoon near K-196 and Tawakoni Road. That location is west of Potwin.
A crash report from the Kansas Highway Patrol says the aircraft was being flown south into a field in the area, when it crashed into the field. The KHP and Butler County deputies are investigating.
