Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors the U.S. Department of the Interior and the great outdoors. Coronavirus cases continue to rise and that makes places like national parks and wildlife refuges a rare and beautiful safe haven, especially with some of the unseasonably warm weather parts of the country have been enjoying. Wednesday is Veteran’s Day and typically Veterans get to enjoy those parks free of charge. Well, the U.S. Department of the Interior just announced that U.S. Military Veterans and Gold Star Families will be granted lifetime access to national parks, wildlife refuges and other federal lands managed by the Department of the Interior. This pass called “American The Beautiful” typically costs $80, starting Veterans Day and everyday after it’s free for Veterans and Gold Star Families. To all the Veterans and Gold Star Families who fought to protect this land, THANK YOU for your service.
