Five more COVID-19 clusters identified at adult care homes in Sedgwick County

Sedgwick County health officials are reporting five new clusters of COVID-19 activity at adult care homes.

Ascension Living Via Christi Village at 1240 North Broadmoor in Wichita has reported ten cases, involving seven residents and three staff members.   All of them have recovered and testing continues once a week for residents and twice a week for staff.

The Caritas Center at 1400 S. Sheridan in Wichita has had five cases with four staff members and one resident.   Follow-up testing is underway and staff members have been isolating at home while the resident has recovered.

The Center at Waterfront at 1541 N. Lindberg Circle in Wichita has reported four cases with three staff members and one resident.  Testing is continuing each week, and the resident has not had symptoms.

The Kansas Masonic Home at 402 S. Martinson in Wichita has reported 21 cases with ten staff and eleven residents.    All staff and residents are tested twice a week.

Medicalodges Wichita at 2280 Minneapolis has reported 19 cases with 15 staff members and one resident.   Testing continues on a twice weekly basis for staff and residents.

County health officials are working with the five care homes to make sure precautions are taken and close contacts are being identified.
