Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Navy Veteran Dennis and his neighbor Hannah Brunson. Hannah had noticed that over the period of a couple days, there hadn’t been any lights on at Dennis’ house even though he was clearly home, so one day while Dennis was outside doing yard work she walked over just to make sure everything was ok. Turns out Dennis had his power, gas and water all disconnected. He had recently had liver surgery and the bills were piling up. It broke her heart to see Dennis cooking food over a trash barrel, so she started a go fund me page that has so far raised over $4,000. Also, the Winfield American Legion has stepped in to help too. Thank you Hannah for being a helper and a good neighbor and THANK YOU Dennis for your service.
