The Wichita Police Department is collecting gifts for kids who will be spending the holidays in domestic violence shelters.

Things like toys, games, clothes, and gift cards, are being accepted at the Patrol West Community Policing Office. Officers are hosting a donation drive on Wednesday, December 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donations can be dropped off at the office, at 5803 West Central, at Central and Gilda. If you cannot make a donation on Wednesday, but would still like to help, you are asked to send an email to Officer Lori Kimrey, lkimrey@wichita.gov, to arrange ta time to drop off a donation.

Over the past six years, the Patrol West Community Policing Office has worked to collect gifts for kids who won’t be spending Christmas at home. They’ve helped provide gifts for a wide range of kids, covering young children through early teens.
