Kansas Electric Cooperative has invested in over 20 megawatts of solar power that will be deployed across roughly 800 miles of the state; providing power to nearly 80,000 rural homes.
The Sedgwick County Electric Cooperative is joining 11 additional electric cooperatives statewide in the deployment of “sun farms,” and have acquired two solar arrays at 1 megawatt each.
Two tracts of land were obtained by the Sedgwick County Electric Cooperative for the project, and construction has already begun. Work on the project is expected to be completed by June, 2021.
