Sedgwick County now offering COVID-19 vaccines to residents 75 and older

The Sedgwick County Health Department said Monday it is now offering county residents 75 years of age and older to schedule appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccine clinics will be located this week at INTRUST Bank Arena, and the Wichita Transit Operations Center.   Both clinics will be open through Saturday, February 13th.

The county will also offer the vaccine to health care associated workers who did not receive the shots in Phase One of the state’s vaccination plan.   Appointments can be scheduled through the county’s web site at https://www.sedgwickcounty.org/covid-19/vaccine/schedule/

The clinic at the Transit Operations Center at 777 East Waterman is a drive-through location for people 75 and older who are not mobile.  Caregivers are welcome to join the resident at the appointment but caregivers will not receive the vaccine at that time.  People should arrive for the appointment no sooner than 15 minutes before their scheduled time, and they should plan to allow 45 minutes for the appointment.   Based on staffing, average wait times for the appointments are ranging from 60 to 90 minutes.

The county is only offering appointments to match the supply of vaccine that is available.
