Riverfest 2021 to go on, but split between June and September

Wichita’s Riverfest will be happening this year, but it will be split up between two long weekends in June and September.

The first half of Riverfest will will run June 4-6. This will cover athletic events like the Fidelity Bank River Run, a triathlon, and other races and events.

“We are scheduling those events in June that are easier to present with social distancing,” said Ann Keefer, interim president/CEO of WFI. “Those who wish to participate can register for the events they choose. We will not offer a food court or other events in a downtown gated area during the June event. In the fall, however, Riverfest will look a whole lot more like the giant party you remember.”

The second half of Riverfest is set for September 30 to October 3. This will focus on things like the Sundown Parade, food court, fireworks, and concerts. Admission buttons for the fall event will be available starting in late August.
