A two-alarm fire destroyed a duplex and then spread to a neighboring home in southwest Wichita late Monday afternoon.
There were no injuries, but a dog was reported missing after the fire, which broke out around 5 p.m. in the 2600 block of South Yellowstone Court, in a neighborhood near the intersection of Pawnee and Maize Road.
Strong winds made it difficult for crews to get the fire under control. The cause is under investigation.
Another duplex fire was reported Monday evening in the 1600 block of East Lewis. The fire was brought under control in a short time and there were no injuries.
