The City of Wichita will still require face masks be worn in all city facilities by both employees and visitors.

This despite legislators revoking a statewide mask mandate.

City officials said they are continuing to adhere to CDC guidance to reduce COVID-19 spread, and will continue on with the mask requirement, including those that have been vaccinated. City facilities will also require social distancing as well as limited attendance at city facilities until further notice.

The Eisenhower Airport and city buses will also require masks, as they are governed under the Transportation Security Administration and the Federal Transportation Authority, and therefore operate under the federal executive order requiring that masks be worn on all regulated modes of transportation.

The city still encourage that residents continue to wear masks recommends residents continue to wear masks, avoid large gatherings, and maintain social distancing practices.
