Tipsters in the Wichita area were paid just over $2600 for information in February and March.
Crime Stoppers of Wichita-Sedgwick County got information that led to arrests for things like drug dealing and a shooting, and information on a fugitive. At an April board meeting, $2650 in tip money was approved.
To date, Crime Stoppers has paid out more than $500,000 rewards for information. Tips have led to 3,863 arrests, the seizure of $900,000 in drugs, and $4-million in recovered property.
Information to Crime Stoppers in always anonymous, and info that leads to an arrest is eligible for a cash reward.
