The City of Derby held a grand opening ceremony Friday for a new facility with ballfields, a picnic shelter, concession stands and a dog park.
Decarsky Park has four ballfields and two batting cages. The park opened last October and the grand opening was scheduled for the spring.
Derby Mayor Randy White said the park was constructed with a Derby Difference Sales Tax that was approved by residents, and it was developed by the Derby Recreation Commission along with work by the city’s Parks and Public Works staff.
The park is located at 1600 Line Drive, which is at Rock Road at the south city limits.
