Airxcel, Gov. Kelly, announce expansion plans that add 365 new jobs at Wichita facility

Airxcel, a local manufacturing company, announced plans to expand its capacity and workforce at its Wichita facility.

Governor Laura Kelly visited Wichita on Wednesday, June 2nd to share in the celebration of the expansion project, which will create 365 jobs and invest more than $4 million in the community.

Airxcel is a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of branded products for RV’s (Global Recreation Vehicles) and specialty HVAC markets–all globally sourced and locally built at its facility in Downtown Wichita (3050 North St. Francis)

The COVID-19 pandemic saw a marked jump in camping and recreational activity, therefore leading to increased RV sales as well as demand for Airxcel products. As a result, there has been exponential job growth at the Wichita headquarters.

Gov. Kelly said Wednesday, “Airxcel is a classic success story in Wichita’s manufacturing sector, and I believe this expansion creates a blueprint for companies and the city to follow.”

The expansion is delivering new jobs in sales, engineering, supply-chain operations, finance, human resources, and other positions.
