A Wichita woman has appeared in court on charges related to a New Year’s Day homicide in south Wichita.

21-year-old Isabel Martin is charged with attempted aggravated robbery and four counts of recruiting criminal street gang membership.

Martin was the third person arrested after a January 1st incident in the 1200 block of South Ida.   Police found 22-year-old Gabriel Campos-Torres outside a home, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.   An autopsy found that he died of blunt force trauma, and police said he was beaten during a gang initiation.

Martin’s brother, 19-year-old Noah Martin, has been charged with second degree murder.  A 16-year-old boy was also arrested in connection with the death.
