A Wichita man has been sentenced to five years in prison for a fatal drunk-driving crash.
A judge sentenced 37-year-old Jeremy Crowder to 60 months during a court appearance Tuesday. Crowder pleaded guilty in May to a charge of involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence and two counts of aggravated battery while DUI.
Prosecutors said Crowder’s southbound vehicle ran a red light at Kellogg and Webb Road on March 19, 2019. His vehicle hit an SUV, killing a passenger, 57-year-old Yvonne Recchio of Wichita. The driver of the SUV and another passenger, Recchio’s husband, were injured.
Police found that Crowder’s blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit.
