Ascension Via Christi and Wichita State University have partnered to host a suicide awareness and prevention program, which is funded by Kohl’s Cares.
Through the partnership, WSU made its online Suspenders4Hope suicide prevention and training program available community-wide.
WSU and Via Christi will be also hosting a 5K Run for Hope ad 1-mile Walk in Honor as part of their ongoing effort to support mental wellness in the community. It will benefit “StopSuicideICT” and will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11th.
The event will take place on WSU’s campus, with registration and check-in beginning at 8 a.m., the 5K Run at 8:30 a.m., a 9:30 a.m. awards program, and the 1-mile Honor Walk at 10:30 a.m.
There is no cost to participate, but funds are being raised for StopSuiciceICT, a local non-profit organization that provides suicide prevention training, awareness, and education.
