A Wichita man was arrested after reportedly evading law enforcement on two separate occasions.

Harvey County officials say 47-year-old Joshua Harris was originally in court on October 7th for a preliminary hearing on a drug case. He had warrant out for kidnapping at the time, and a Harvey County deputy tried to arrest him at the courthouse, but he fled.

On October 11, Harris was spotted at a convenience store in Newton. As law enforcement approached the store, Harris is reported to have drove off to the south, heading into Sedgwick County. At some point Harris ran from his car on foot. Multiple area law enforcement agencies were part of the effort to find Harris, and he was spotted using a drone, in the yard of a home near 77th North and Hillside, in Valley Center. A statement from Harvey County says Harris surrendered as a police dog was brought in. About an hour had passed between Harris being seen at a convenience store and his arrest.

Harris is now in jail in Harvey County without bond. He is being held for aggravated kidnapping, failure to appear, possession of opiates, use and possession of drug paraphernalia, and fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement.
