Kansas corrections officials said a resident of the Lansing Correctional Facility died after being taken to a Leavenworth hospital.
32-year-old Lawrence A. Brown, Jr. died Friday, and an autopsy was ordered, but the death is not believed to be related to COVID-19.
Brown was serving a 122-month sentence for a Sedgwick County conviction of battery of a corrections officer or employee.
