Salvation Army needs space for Santa’s Toy Shop

The Salvation Army is in need of warehouse space for toy distribution this year.

Because of a spike in demand for warehouse space, program leaders are having trouble securing a location for Santa’s Toy Shop to operate out of. This program helps families in need make sure their kids are able to have presents over the holidays.

If you know of a space in the Wichita area that could work, you can contact Emergency Social Services Director, Jill Skaggs, at 316-
425-6114. The Salvation Army is looking for a space that meets the following requirements:

  •  Approximately 70,000 square feet. (We will consider smaller space between 20,000 – 70,000).
  •  Loading dock (preferred, not required).
  •  Parking for 200 plus cars.
  •  Heated space.
  •  Rest room facilities
  •  Dates of Use: November 22 to December 17, 2021

In 2020, the Salvation Army was able to help 2,851 households; 10,384 individuals and provide gifts to 7,267 children 16 and
younger.

For any facility used, the Salvation Army will provide a $1M insurance rider, pay for utilities during use, responsible for all
trash, facility cleaning and parking area. Lending of space will count as a charitable donation for tax purposes.
